Porter Airlines has just launched a new nonstop flight service to a West Coast city known for its warm temperatures year-round, making it even easier for Canadians to escape the harsh winter and fly directly to the Golden State. 

The airline's first flight from Toronto to San Diego officially took off on Monday, marking the start of the year-round service with four weekly flights. 

Unlike Toronto, San Diego boasts sunny temperatures year-round, and is known for its sandy beaches, coastal cuisine, and a long list of attractions, including the world-famous San Diego Zoo, the USS Midway Museum, and Balboa Park. 

Flights will take off from Toronto Pearson International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 10:20 a.m. local time, and arrive at San Diego International Airport at 1:05 p.m. (PST). 

On the same days, flights will return to Toronto at 2:05 p.m. (PST) and arrive at 9:50 p.m. (EST). 

The Canadian airline is also launching a seasonal service to Palm Springs that takes off on Dec. 12, with three weekly departures. Porter now officially serves four California cities from Toronto Pearson, including Los Angeles and San Francisco. 

Both of the new routes will be operated by Porter's Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, with no middle seats, complimentary wine and beer served in glassware, premium snacks, and free WiFi. 

Extra legroom seats, priority boarding, pre-mixed cocktails, and meals are also available with the PorterReserve fares or can be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.
